The annual Paris-Roubaix cycling race, one of the oldest cycling races in the world, happens every March-April nearby and your Hotel Campanile Lille Ouest - Lomme is perfectly situated for those wishing to attend the prestigious race. Now part of the UCI World Calendar, this event attracts some of the best cyclists in the world. Alternatively, for those more interested in cultural events, the fine antiques fair takes place every May in Lille. Another unusual event takes place during the first weekend in September, the Lille Braderie, which is a big flea market. Every year sees more and more visitors coming to Lille to enjoy the Lille Braderie and looking to find a bargain or simply to browse the aisles and listen to some tough negotiation. From February – December Lille Zoo is open to the public. It houses 80 animal species of which many are endangered. Just a 20- minute drive from the hotel, this park is ideal for children and adults alike. Alternatively guests can use the nearby Saint Philibert metro station as a convenient gateway in to the town centre to see many of the attractions the historic town has to offer, of which the cathedral and the Grand Place are the highlights.
